About the Living Well Foundation

The Living Well Foundation is a non-profit organization established to enhance the quality of life and health of the citizens of Ouachita Parish and the surrounding areas.

After the sale of Glenwood Regional Medical Center to IASIS Healthcare in 2006, proceeds were used by the Hospital Service District #1 to establish the Ward Five Healthcare Foundation on August 17, 2006. So that the Foundation could be more easily identified and recognized for its impact on the community, the name was changed to the Living Well Foundation in 2010.

The Living Well Foundation supports several projects in the northeast Louisiana area that seek to improve the medical, dental, and behavioral health of the population, especially kids. Those services include dental hygiene clinics with the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) Department of Dental Hygiene, school-based health centers with local school boards and medical providers including federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) and others, and a resource and treating clinic for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in partnership with ULM at its Autism Center. Other projects that provide behavioral health support services on school campuses and in communities are supported with area non-profit agencies and clinical professionals.
